The Hero Tower has several functions:
- It allows you to appoint a defensive hero which defends the castle from enemy attacks.
- It also provides 1% additional experience, but only to battles fought at the castle and experience gained from building upgrades, up to a max of 10%. This does not apply to any experience gains on the world map.
- Heroes appointed as the Castellen also yield a gold bonus to castle production that scales with hero intelligence.
